Case 97 - Discussion

Hematopathology Case

Metastatic Poorly Differentiated Neuroblastoma in the Bone Marrow

  • The patient was found to have a large abdominal mass, and a biopsy showed a poorly differentiated neuroblastoma (Surgical pathology case 335)

  • In the bone marrow, the tumor cells are large in size with high N/C ratio. The nuclei are irregular with open chromatin and inconspicuous nucleoli. Focally, the tumor cells appear to be cohesive with rosette formation in a cluster.
