Hematopathology Case

CD20 CD5
CD3 CD3
CD4 CD4
CD8 ALK
CD30 CD30

  • Diagnosis: Primary Cutaneous CD30+ Lymphoproliferative Disorder.

  • Differential diagnoses:

    1. CD30+ MF: The diagnosis of large cell variant of MF is possible based on the clinical history (persistent disease) and morphology (many large cells, but CD30+ cells <75% of tumor cells). However, it is not sure whether the patient went through different stages of MF, including plague, patch and tumor;

    2. LyP: Clinical presentations do not fit this entity, which is typically "comes and goes";

    3. ALCL: Typically in ALCL, the tumor cells are diffusely and strongly positive for CD30+, >75% of cells.
