Hematopathology Case

 

Peripheral T-Cell lymphoma, Lymphoepithelioid Variant

(Lennert Lymphoma)

  • Micro:

    • Often diffusely replaces the lymph node architecture

    • Numerous epithelioid histiocytes in small clusters or linear rows

    • The neoplastic T-cells are small without significant atypia

  • IPX: tumor cells usually CD8+

  • DDX:

    • Sinusoidal histiocytosis: well-preserved architecture of lymph node with expansion of sinus

    • Sarcoidosis: well-formed, non-caseating granuloma, the remaining lymph node architectures is preserved
