Hematopathology Case










Flow cytometry revealed a very small population of suspicious for monoclonal B-cells, but it's not adequate for diagnosis. A small piece of fresh tissue was randomly sectioned and send for immunoglobulin gene rearrangement assay, which was negative for clonal rearrangement. The assay was repeated on the paraffin sample dissected from the area with large cells, and the results were positive for clonal gene rearrangement.


Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma of Thyroid

Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is the most common primary thyroid lymphoma, slightly more than primary marginal zone lymphoma of thyroid.
