Mantle Zone Hyperplasia of Lymph Node

Compared to mantle cell lymphoma, mantle zone hyperplasia typically shows:

  • Preserved nodal architecture

  • The expanded mantle zone usually well-defined

  • The reactive mantle cells are smaller and more uniform with less atypia

  • The reactive mantle cells typically negative for CD5 and especially Cyclin D1

  • Negative for IGH@/CCND1 rearrangement
