Follicular Lymphoma Cells in Peripheral Blood

  • Circulating follicular lymphoma cells are occasionally noted in the peripheral blood and are few in number; In rare cases, a marked lymphocytosis may be present;

  • The lymphoma cells are medium size, which are slightly larger than normal mature lymphocytes. They typically have very irregular nuclei with deep clefts, grooves or folds. The chromatin is moderately condensed with inconspicuous nucleoli. The cytoplasm is scant.
