Surgical Pathology Case

Clinical Information
 

A 76-year-old male had a history of asbestos exposure,  tobacco abuse and CAD. He was initially admitted to the hospital with complaints of shortness of breath for the last month, with it increasing in the last 1-2 weeks. A chest CT demonstrated a large left sided pleural effusion. Patient underwent thoracentesis and approximately 1900 cc of old bloody fluid was removed. There was a questionable mass seen as well on the CT. A CT surgery consult was obtained and a biopsy was performed.
