Adenomyoma of gallbladder

  • Commonly an incidental finding and typically located in the fundus of gallbladder;

  • May mimic malignant tumor radiographically;

  • Grossly, an irregular nodular or thickened area in the submucosa with small cystic spaces on the cut surface;

  • Microscopically, irregularly distributed small muscle bundles and bland glands.
