| CLINICAL INFORMATION | ||
| A 63-year-old male had a significant past medical history of hypertension, stage III chronic renal disease, and deep vein thrombosis of legs. He had a retroperitoneal mass, but a biopsy was non-diagnostic. A recent bone marrow biopsy revealed hypercellular marrow with increased ring sideroblasts. He also had enlarged prostate that was suspicious for carcinoma. Recently, he presented to ER with non-stopping nose bleeding and hematuria with low-grade fever. His chemistry, CBC and coagulation: WBC-9.96k, HgB-6.5, platelet-49K, PT-18.8, PTT-34.9, fibrinogen-392, FDP>40, Bun-99, Creatinine 5.6, LDH-3116. Peripheral blood smear shows: | ||
