Clinical Information

An 82-year-old man presented with a 1-cm raised dermal nodule on the right foot that has been present for unknown duration. There was no history of melanoma or  any other pigmented skin lesion. Biopsied skin showed a well-circumscribed white, firm dermal nodule.

Higher magnification.


HMB-45: Negative.


Melan-A: Negative.


S-100 protein: Weakly positive.


MITF: Strongly positive nuclear stain.
