Kikuchi's Lymphadenitis

• Asian young women

• Common location: cervical lymph node

• Forme fruste of SLE

• Self-limiting

• Micro:

  • Poorly demarcated, patchy necrosis with the paracortex

  • Abundant karyorrhectic debris

  • Cresentic histiocytes, plasmacytoid monocytes, and T-cells (mostly CD8+)

  • No neutrophils or plasma cells

• DDX: cat scratch disease – neutrophilic abscess
