Circulating follicular lymphoma cells are occasionally noted in
the peripheral blood and are few in number; In a small number of
cases, an absolute lymphocytosis is present.

The lymphoma cells are typically slightly larger than normal
mature lymphocytes and have deep cleft nuclei, smooth condensed
chromatin and scant cytoplasm.
