Kaposi’s Sarcoma, HHV8 Positive
 

Low power impression:

  • Well-demarcated subcutaneous nodule with intact epidermis;

  • Tumor is rich in vascular supply.

High power impression:

  • Tumor consists of oval- or spindle-shaped cells with coarse nuclei and prominent nucleoli. No mitotic phase noted;

  • Tumor contains prominent slit-like vascular spaces formed by new, thin-walled and partly aberrant blood vessels;

  • Extravasated RBC around the new vessels.

HHV8 Associated Disease

  • Kaposi's sarcoma

  • Multicentric Castleman’s Disease

  • Primary effusion lymphoma

  • Plasmablastic lymphoma
