| 82 year-old female with left breast cavity | ||
| Gross Description | ||
| The specimen consists left modified radial mastectomy specimen that measures 20.0 x 15.0 x 6.0 cm entirely with gray-tan skin adipose that measures 16.0 x 11.0 cm. There is an attached axillary tail measuring 11.0 x 6.0 x 2.5 cm. In the center of the specimen is a 4.0 cm fresh surgical scar that is 2.0 cm under the nipple; 6.0 cm below the nipple is a deep ulcer that measures 1.5 x 1.0 cm; 4.0 cm to the left of the nipple is an ulcer that measures 1.0 x 0.5 cm; 0.5 cm to the scar and nipple is a cavity that measures 4.0 x 3.0 x 3.0 cm filled with red-tan clots. The cavity is 0.3 cm from the deep margin. The wall of the cavity is firm to white-yellow in color, ranging from 0.3 to 1.2 cm thick making the maximum tumor size 5.2 cm. | ||
