| 78 year-old female, right breast mass | ||
| Gross Description | ||
| The specimen consists of one modified radical mastectomy specimen with axillary contents that measures 21.0 x 13.0 x 4.0 cm and weighs 522 grams. The skin ellipse measures 12.0 x 7.0 cm. There is an old scar measuring 3.5 cm in the lateral lower quadrant of the skin ellipse which is 1.0 cm from the nipple. The skin surface is otherwise unremarkable. Sections through the specimen reveals a poorly demarcated, white, firm nodule measuring 5.0 x 3.5 x 3.0 cm. In the center of the nodule, hemorrhage and necrosis are noted. The nodule is 1.0 cm within the deep margin. A small, white, firm nodule measuring 0.9 x 0.8 x 0.6 cm is identified 0.6 cm within the deep margin. | ||
