Case 34 - Discussion

STOMACH, HEAD OF PANCREAS, DUODENUM, JEJUNUM, DISTAL COMMON BILE DUCT, EXCISION:

• Well differentiated pancreatic adenocarcinoma. Maximum dimension of tumor, 5.0 cm.
• Tumor infiltrates through the duodenal muscularis, submucosa and into the mucosa.
• Tumor infiltrates the ampulla.
• Tumor is within 0.1 cm of the retroperitoneal margins.
• All margins (gastric, duodenal, pancreatic, CBD and mesenteric vessel) are free of tumor.
• Sixteen peripancreatic lymph node head of tumor is negative for malignancy.
• AJCC staging: T3, N0, MX (stage IIB).
