| Clinical Information | ||
| 19 year-old female. Two-year history of high blood pressure with severe headache, sweating, dizziness, numbness of her face and heart palpitation .Scan revealed a mass within the gland of Zuckerkandl. The mass measured slightly larger than 3.0cm and was located slightly superior to the umbilical level. | ||
| Gross Description | ||
| The specimen consists of a 4.0 x 3.5 x 2.8 cm brown-red soft tissue fragment. The specimen seems to be well circumscribed, although no distinct capsule is noted on gross examination. The specimen weighs 21 grams. Serial sectioning reveals a single centrally located cystic cavity filled with brown-red fluid. The cavity measures approximately 1.0 cm in diameter. | ||
