| CLINICAL INFORMATION | ||
| A 72-year-old female with a prominent asymmetric goiter had recent onset of hoarseness and neck pain. A midline neck mass (possible thyroid gland) was noted and resected. | ||
| GROSS DESCRIPTION | ||
| The surgical specimen measures 6.0 × 5.0 × 4.0 cm with attached skeletal muscle. The cut surface of the specimen shows a fleshy tan mass with indistinct borders and necrosis. The tumor mass firmly attaches to muscle. | ||
