| CLINICAL INFORMATION | ||
| An 81-year-old male presented with colonic lesion. | ||
| GROSS DESCRIPTION | ||
| The specimen consists of one segment of sigmoid colon and rectum with anus and attached adipose tissue measuring 18.0 × 7.0 × 3.0 cm. The segment of sigmoid colon and rectum measures 6.0 cm in length and varies in diameter from 2.6 to 3.5 cm. The colonic mucosa demonstrates multiple hemorrhagic lesions, the largest measuring 0.3 × 0.2 cm. Anal sinus shows several areas of erosion and ulceration, the largest measures 0.2 × 0.1 cm. The anal canal is grossly unremarkable. | ||
