| CLINICAL INFORMATION | ||
| 36-year-old male, presented with signs of acute appendicitis. Appendectomy was performed. | ||
| GROSS DESCRIPTION | ||
| The appendix measures 7.0 cm in length and 1.5 cm in greatest diameter. The serosal surface is hyperemic and edematous with multifocal pale-yellow exudates. Upon serial sectioning through the specimen the lumen is filled with fecal material and the appendiceal wall measures up to 0.6 cm in thickness, without any gross perforation. | ||
