| CLINICAL INFORMATION | ||
| 22-year-old female, pelvic mass. | ||
| GROSS DESCRIPTION | ||
| The specimen consists of a 15.0 ×15.0 × 8.0 cm cyst with attached fallopian tube measuring 7.0 cm in length, and 0.5 cm in diameter. The outer surface is remarkable for an excresence on the surface, 1.0 cm in diameter; otherwise it is smooth. The entire outer surface is inked black. The tumor is opened to reveal a cystic cavity filled with a tan-off white thick fluid, numerous hairs and a tooth. The material is drained and inner lining is examined. The inner lining is smooth all over except in one area where there is a large mass measuring 6.0 × 4.0 × 2.5 cm. The smaller excresence visible on the surface overlies this mass. Serial sections of the mass reveal semi-solid necrotic debris. The fallopian tube is unremarkable. | ||
