  • A rare subtype of undifferentiated carcinomas, composed of islands of atypical, large, epithelial cells accompanied by a benign dense lymphoplasmacytic infiltrate.

  • Particularly frequent among Eskimos and Chinese.

  • Often metastasize to regional lymph nodes or distant organs, particularly lung, liver, and bone.

  • Histology: mixture of epithelial solid islands and reactive lymphoid tissue; the epithelial component mostly consists of non-keratinizing large cell carcinoma with occasional spindle-shaped areas.
  • Cytokeratin positive and often EBV positive
